MISSION STATEMENT: Winter`s Legacy is a
balanced guild who (while enjoying a famly atmosphere) is primarily
focused on progressing through Everquest content. Discipline, maturity and
professionalism are demanded at all times. We desire players who: 1) are
dedicated to the guild, 2) have the desire within themselves to do the
impossible, 3) are willing to make personal sacrifices in order to help
advance the guild, and 4) do not complain when things are tough. This is
the type of guild we are.
RAID TIME: Our raid
times are TUESDAYS at 8:00 PM CST and SATURDAYS at 5:00 PM CST. In
addition, officers reserve the right to form raids on nights that follow a
major game patch. All raiding is mandatory, meaning that if you are online
during a designated raid time, you are required to be there. Every raid
will utilize the LOOT POINT SYSTEM. In many cases, raid times will extend
up to and past 12:00 AM CST. Where raiding is concerned, it comes down to
this: We raid certain nights. You need to be there and participlate if you
ever expect to earn any loot or flags in this guild. So, it is in your
best interest to show up at raids as much as possible. If your attendance
is lacking and you have an obvious consistent non-presence and
participation at raids, your membership may be revoked at the discretion
of the guild officers and
leader.
VALUES:
- we value hard work
and the dedication it takes to improve oneself and the guild as a
whole. - we value team work and the willingness to help fellow
guildmates. - we value our players' dedication, focus, and the ability
to perform without supervision. - we value our players' desire to
succeed. - we value not only the ability to lead well, but also the
ability to follow well. - we value and encourage improvisation and
innovated thought. - we value punctuality and good raid
attendance. - we value a sense of humor. - we value our ability to
succeed.
These values make up the core of what Winter`s Legacy is.
If you do not share or respect these values, then you do not belong in
Winter's
Legacy.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
INTRODUCTION:
Winter’s Legacy is committed to conducting its affairs in a socially
responsible manner consistent with its members policies and expects its
members to conduct their affairs in a manner consistent with, and follow
guild standards that adhere to, this Code of Conduct (the
Code).
STATEMENT: In order to maintain its
integrity and viability, the guild relies on the voluntary compliance of
its members with this code and the penalties prescribed therein. All
leadership decisions must be respected and are never to be openly
contested, although feedback through appropriate and discreet channels is
welcome and encouraged. Violation of any of these guidelines can lead to
disciplinary action up to and including immediate removal from the
guild.
REASONS FOR THE CODE OF
CONDUCT:
--Being that Winter’s Legacy is made up of many
diverse players of different ages, mindsets and customs, there are certain
guidelines that need to be in place within the guild to make sure that
people are not made to feel uncomfortable in the game. -- Though there
are different ranks and responsibilities that characters hold within
Winter’s Legacy, a player should never be in a position of being made to
feel inferior to another player. --A Code of Conduct promotes trust and
unity within a set of people.
CODE OF
CONDUCT:
**Note** The following list is dynamic in nature
and should be considered a work in progress at all times.
1) ALL
members of the guild must realize that the good of the guild will take
precedence over their own desires. Arrogance and Egos have no place in
Winter's Legacy. We are a team and function as one. This applies to
everyone, from the newest initiate to the Guild Leader.
2) Guild
members are expected to treat other members with courtesy and respect.
Members shall in all instances refrain from the use of foul language which
can be construed as obscene or offensive. Members will be considerate of
other peoples feelings in Guild Chat or in tells. (Adult conversation
happens, as we are all adults, but when someone shows that they are
offended, the activity must stop.) Members will be expected to behave
professionally and respectfully at all times to non members alike. (This
includes all EverQuest channels and boards.)
3) All members,
regardless of rank, will not verbally degrade, abuse, or intimidate any
other player in the game (or in open forum) nor ridicule or belittle any
other member’s ideas. Disagreements and debates will always occur given
the wide variety of views and personalities, but regardless, lack respect
for another’s ideas and personal attacks in attempt to win an argument is
not acceptable and will not be tolerated.
4) Guild members shall
strive to have good personal reputations. Proper care and individual
attention to this is a primary concern of this guild. Who we are and what
we do as individuals tells the community much about our guild. The
leadership of this guild will not harbor a member that harms this guild's
reputation. Examples of unacceptable behavior: - looting items that
you do not have a right to loot (aka "ninja looting") - engaging in
deceitful or unfair trading practices with other players (aka "rooking
someone") - giving misleading information in order to cause distress to
another (aka "screwing with the newbs") - failing to abide by loot
rules agreed upon in advance when grouping with others - acting in an
abusive manner towards other players - public or flagrant besmirchment
of this guild or its members - acting foolish, immature, or making
contemptible remarks in public channels - engaging in any conduct
prohibited by this guild or Sony Online Entertainment
5) Animosity
and Grudges will not be tolerated between members (and non members alike).
If a problem occurs, we encourage our members to try work things out on
their own or in a private forum. If a problem persists, we will seek out
an Internal Affairs Officer to mediate. Situations will be handled as
such:
- 5a. If a conflict arises with a non-guild member of the EQ
community: Turn /log on. You are expected to maintain your bearing, live
the code and values, and attempt to resolve the problem. If you have
done your best, end the conversation and E-mail your log to an Internal
Affairs Officer.
- 5b. If a conflict arises with a Guild member, Turn /log and try to
resolve it on your own. If that doesn't work, contact an Internal
Affairs Officer, and E-mail a copy of the log.
- 5c. If a conflict arises with an officer of Winter's Legacy, then
turn /log on and try to resolve it on your own, in a private channel or
in tells. If the situation does not get resolved, contact another
officer (or guild leader) of WL and be prepared to E-mail him/her a copy
of the log file if requested.
Any deviation from the above
will not be tolerated and will be subject to disciplinary action (posting
disputes in a public forum as a representative of this guild, posting
screenshots, open arguments in guild chat,
etc).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GUILD
STRUCTURE:
Officer Positions
1
Guild Leader 3 Assistant Guild Leaders* 2 Guild Recruitment
Officers* 2 Guild Internal Disciplinary Affair Officers 1 Raid
Officer** 1 Raid Points Officer * Some positions may be held by the
same individual ** While conducting a guild raid, the Raid Officer's
decisions are final and cannot be overturned
There shall be no more
than 1 Guild Leader(GL) and 3 Assistant Guild Leaders(AGL) at any given
time. The 3 AGLs have equal power in the guild structure as it pertains to
managing personal, calling and executing raids, policy creation and
enforcement, loot decisions, overseeing daily affairs, etc.
The
officers’ decisions, once announced, are considered law from that moment
on and are not to be openly contested. If the decision results in
disagreement and dissension in the guild, it still must be followed
until:
- The Guild Leader (GL) vetoes the decision, or - 2 of
the 3 AGLs jointly veto the decision, or - The individual(s) in
disagreement with the policy convince both GIDA officers that the decision
needs to be overturned.
OFFICER REMOVAL AND
PROMOTION
Guild officers may only be removed by the Guild
Leader. Should an officer be removed, a replacement officer will be
appointed by the Guild Leader within a
month.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
APPLICATION
FOR MEMBERSHIP:
Recruiting information is detailed at this
link: How do I
join? If you have any questions, you can contact a recruitment
officer at WLrecruiting@hotmail.com or
simply find them online.
Once you finish the application process,
if the guild feels that you will make a fine addition to our ranks, you
will move on to the next step of the application process--the wearing of
our Winter’s Legacy Tag. This starts your 30 day "unswornship"
(probationary period). During your unswornship period, you are expected to
attend at least 50 percent of all raids and miss no more than 2
consecutive raid days. After 30 days, your unswornship ends and the
officers will review your progress and vote on whether to remove your
guild tag (failed) or raise you to full member status
(pass).
LEAVING AND REJOINING THE
GUILD
Under no circumstances should a member be made to
feel as if they are the property of the guild. However, the guild does
value commitment in its members. If you are removed from the guild for
a disciplinary reason, you will NEVER be allowed to come
back.
Members who voluntarily leave our guild will not be
allowed to come back for a period of 30 days. After that time, they may
come back if a majority of the officers approve it(the guild leader will
only act as a SWING VOTE) and there is a class spot available for them to
procure. In addition, if a previous member is allowed to rejoin they will
be reinstated to full member status and forfeit all raid points that they
earned before they left. Readmittance in this manner will be allowed only
ONCE; if a member voluntarily removes themself from the guild a
second time, regardless of the reason, that person will NEVER be
reinstated.
Special considerations (such as being allowed
back as a full member and retaining your RPs) are a remote possibility,
but only if ALL officers and guild leader are in agreement. Usually this
will be where the guild leadership, in retrospect, feels it dealt unfairly
with that member. This should be considered VERY RARE!
If a member's guild tag is removed by an officer for
non-disciplinary reasons and are/were still in good standing, they may be
reinstated to full member status at their request.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DISCIPLINARY
CONDUCT:
There are 3 levels in discipline
administration:
Level 1 - A verbal warning through the /tell from
an officer. First reprimand by an officer: Anyone engaging in the
inciteful or malicious act will lose 10% of their total current raid point
pool amount or 10 points, whichever is greater. If the individual(s) do
not have at least 10 points accumulated, a negative number of points (the
difference between 10 and the number they currently have) will be added to
their total current raid pool.
Level 2 - A second verbal warning
through a /tell from an officer. The member will be made aware that this
is the SECOND warning issued. Second reprimand by an officer: Anyone
engaging in the inciteful or maliciousact will lose 50% of their total
current raid point pool amount or 50 points, whichever is greater. If they
do not have at least 50 points accumulated, a negative number of points
(the difference between 50 and the number they currently have) will be
added to their total current raid pool.
Level 3 - A suspension or
straight out dismissal from the guild. Third reprimand by an officer:
Anyone engaging in the inciteful or mailcious act will lose 100% of their
total current raid point pool amount or 100 points, whichever is greater.
If they do not have at least 100 points accumulated, a negative number of
points (the difference between 100 and the number they currently have)
will be added to their total current raid pool.
If a level 1 or 2
correction is issued to a member, and he/she believes it to be
unwarranted, that member may request a LEVEL 1/2 HEARING. Present at this
hearing will be 3 people: the member, the issuing officer and a GIDA
officer.
If a level 3 correction (suspension) is issued to a
member, and he/she believes it to be unwarranted, that member may request
a LEVEL 3 HEARING. Present at this hearing will be 4 people: the member,
the issuing officer, a GIDA officer and either an AGL or GL.
Normal
progression through the levels of correction will be followed unless the
normal sequence of disciplinary action is inadequate to handle the case at
hand (see immediate suspension).
MISCELLANEA
We do NOT allow anonymous unless otherwise instructed by guild leadership.
There is NO reason for you to be anonymous other than to hide yourself from your own guild. THIS IS NOT
ACCEPTABLE. This is an impedement to your guildmates looking for groups, a hinderance to discipline, and
a bigger hinderance for raid formation. Use /role if you must hide from the rest of the server.
Any character (ALT or MAIN) that exceeds 3-6 months of online inactivity will be subject to removal from the guild roster. Individuals removed in such a fashion are considered in good standing, will retain full membership access on the website, and upon return will have their tag reinstated in most cases unconditionally (some conditions may apply in rare cases where an individual's leave of absence extends over a great length of time).
IMMEDIATE
SUSPENSION
Any officer can suspend a member from the guild
for a period of up to 48 hours using the /guildremove command. Within 48
hours, the suspension will be reviewed by at least 3 people: the issuing
officer, a GIDA Officer, and an AGL or GL. At the time of the reviewal, a
decision will be made whether to reinstate the member or not. Suspension
is a very serious thing. Immediate suspension will only be used when the
officer feels the normal sequence of disciplinary action is inadequate to
handle the case at hand.
Examples of but not limited to -any
serious violation of our code of conduct. -cheating, lying, or
stealing. -misappropriation of guild resources. -insubordination.
-disruptive behavior or actions intended to induce disruption.
